Sweeps and Inspections
Sweeping is the bread and butter of this business,
Does it need swept? if you burn wood then, yes it will eventually need swept. Creosote is naturally deposited in the flue when burning wood, if this is left to accumulate and not swept away, a CHIMNEY FIRE can occur where the soot actually ignites and rapidly burns, causing structural damage and possibly starting a fire from the intense heat generated. an inspection is conducted during every sweep, to check over your entire system, top to bottom.
When we sweep, a large chimney vacuum called the “soot sweeper” is used to control the dust, we lay down drop cloths to protect your home and wear masks for our protection since our heads are usually in the dust-zone. A variety of brushes and rods will be used to remove the soot, depending on the specific situation.
